Uncharted Terrains
Jennifer Andrews
Jennifer Andrews takes her inspiration from the iconic site of Australiaʼs first major environmental confrontation at Terania Creek,in the lush rainforest of northern New South Wales.
Drawing on insights from current research into neurology and perception, Jenniferʻs work searches for the elemental connections between humanity and nature.
Jennifer has utilized innovative drawing techniques to evoke glimpses of metaphoric worlds in the waterfalls and rock pools of Protestor Falls and Terania Creek and
similar worlds within the mimetic rainforest of the inner city arcadia of Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens. The exhibition consists primarily of a series of large gestural, evocative, monochromatic drawings which contrast with a selection of thought provoking, digitally manipulated images based on the same sites – a rainforest creek and an inner city arcadia. Also a collection of digital images are displayed along the same theme
