Uncharted Terrains | 2011
Uncharted Terrains was a solo exhibition held at POP Gallery, Queensland Collage of Art, Woolloongabba in 2011. The exhibition consisted of 10 large innovative drawings and a collection of digital images.
Artist Statement
Using innovative drawing techniques Jennifer Andrews catches glimpses of metaphoric worlds in the waterfalls and rock pools of Protestor Falls and Terania Creek. Uncharted Terrains consisted primarily of a series of large gestural, evocative, monochromatic drawings which contrast with a selection of thought provoking, digitally manipulated images based on the same site. Jennifer Andrews takes her inspiration from the iconic site of Australiaʼs first major environmental confrontation at Terania Creek, in the lush rainforest of northern New South Wales.
